Data Retention Policy

How long Polaris keeps your generations and account data, when it is deleted, and why files disappear on a timer.

1. The short version

Polaris is a generation tool, not a storage service. Finished files are kept only briefly so you can download them.

  • A generation can stop being available as soon as ~24 hours after it is created.
  • We remove the record and any copy we host within ~48 hours of creation.
  • This happens automatically on a timer, whether or not you have an active subscription.
  • Download anything you want to keep, as soon as it is ready.

2. Generated videos, images and audio

Every video, image, voiceover and track you generate is temporary. Two separate things end its availability:

  • The delivery link for a finished file expires on our infrastructure providers' side, which can happen as soon as ~24 hours after creation.
  • Our own housekeeping removes the generation record, and any copy we host, about 48 hours after creation.

Because of the first point, a file can become unavailable earlier than our own 48-hour window. That is why the application warns you to download your work rather than treating the library as an archive.

This deletion is purely time-based. It is not triggered by cancelling, by a payment, or by anything you did wrong — and it applies equally to paying and non-paying accounts.

3. What we keep while your account is open

For as long as your account exists, we keep the things that make the product work between sessions: your account and sign-in details, your plan and credit balance, your saved characters and voices, your brand details and your settings.

Reference material you upload for a generation is kept so that the generation can use it and so you can reuse it later.

4. Deleting your data

You can delete your work at any time. In Settings you can remove individual generations, remove all of them at once, or delete your entire account.

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. It removes your stored account data, your credit balance, your generations and your settings, and unlinks your sign-in. Cancelling your subscription performs this same deletion — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy before you cancel.

Once deleted, we cannot restore your data. Deletion removes it rather than archiving it.

Backups and provider logs may retain fragments for a short period as part of normal system operation, and we may keep the minimum records we are required to keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Your rights over your data

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Our Privacy Policy explains those rights and how to exercise them.
