Refund & Cancellation Policy

What happens to your subscription, credits and files when you cancel — and how to stop the next charge without losing what you have already paid for.

1. The short version

This policy explains exactly what happens to your subscription, your credits and your generated files when you cancel. Please read the cancellation section before you cancel — cancelling is immediate and cannot be undone.

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Cancelling closes your account straight away. It does not run to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Cancelling permanently deletes your remaining credits and everything in your account.
  • We do not refund the unused part of a period you have already paid for.
  • If you only want to avoid the next charge, do not cancel yet — see “Stopping the next charge” below.

2. Billing and renewals

Polaris is sold as a subscription, billed in advance for each period. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the rate shown at checkout, until it is cancelled.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. Taxes may be added depending on your location. Prices can change for future periods; we will tell you before a changed price applies to you.

3. Cancellation is immediate and permanent

Cancelling your subscription in Polaris closes your account at once. It is the same action as deleting your account. When you confirm cancellation, all of the following happen immediately and cannot be reversed:

  • Your subscription is cancelled and will not renew.
  • Your access to the application ends at once, even if you have paid for a period that has not finished.
  • Any credits remaining on your account are deleted.
  • Your generations, voiceovers, saved characters, brand details and settings are permanently deleted.
  • Your sign-in is unlinked, so the same login will create a new, empty account.

There is no grace period, no recovery window and no way for us to restore a cancelled account. We cannot retrieve deleted files or credits for you afterwards, because they are removed rather than archived.

Before you confirm, the application shows this warning and asks you to tick a box acknowledging it. Please download anything you want to keep first.

4. Why cancelling works this way

We would rather explain this than let it look arbitrary.

Every generation costs us money the moment it runs. Video, image, voice and music generation are charged to us per request by the compute providers behind Polaris, and that cost is incurred immediately and cannot be reversed once the render has happened. Credits are therefore not money held on deposit for you — they are generation capacity that we buy on your behalf as you spend them.

Because the cost is real and immediate, a subscription that could be drained and then unwound would be trivial to abuse: buy one month, run the full allowance of generations within hours, take the finished files, and then reverse the payment. We would have paid for all of that compute, and the person would keep the output. Ending the subscription and the account together, with no refund of the period, is what closes that loop — and it is the reason we can sell a month of generation at a flat price instead of charging you per render.

The trade-off is that cancelling is blunt: it treats your account as finished rather than paused. If that is not what you want, do not cancel — stop the renewal instead, as described below, and keep everything you have paid for until the period actually ends.

5. Stopping the next charge without losing access

If your goal is simply to not be charged again, do not use Cancel. Cancelling gives up the rest of the period you have already paid for.

Instead, keep using the plan for the period you have paid for and switch off the renewal before the next charge date. In Polaris you can set a reminder before the next charge so you do not forget. This way you keep your access, your credits and your files for the full period you paid for, and no further payment is taken.

6. Refunds

Payments are for the period they cover. We do not provide refunds or pro-rated credit for the unused remainder of a period, including where you cancel early, stop using the Service, or lose access because you cancelled.

Credits are part of the paid Service. They are not a stored-value balance, cannot be exchanged for money, are not transferable between accounts, and are not refundable.

We may, at our discretion, issue a refund or reinstate credits where something went wrong on our side — for example a duplicate charge, or a billing error. Ask us; we would rather fix a genuine mistake than argue about it.

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer law that applies to you, where such law gives you rights that cannot be waived.

7. Failed renders are refunded in credits

If a generation fails, the credits for that generation are returned to your balance automatically. You are not charged for renders that do not produce a result. This is an automatic in-product credit return, not a money refund.

A render that completes but that you simply do not like is not a failure, and is not returned — generation is probabilistic, and re-running with a different prompt or settings is the normal way to work.

8. How long your files are kept

Generated files are working output, not long-term storage. They are removed automatically a short time after they are created, whether or not you have an active subscription. Download anything you want to keep, as soon as it is ready.

The full detail is in our Data Retention Policy. This deletion is time-based and happens independently of billing — files disappearing is not a sign that anything is wrong with your subscription.

9. Disputes and chargebacks

If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us first at contact@polarisugc.com. We will look at it and correct genuine mistakes.

Opening a chargeback instead of contacting us may result in the account being suspended while the dispute is handled by the payment provider. We would much rather resolve it directly.
